With 14 years of accolades as one of the ‘Worlds Leading Resorts’, The Four Seasons Resort in Jimbaran Bay underwent a gentle renaissance under the direction of Lisa Garris, Plum Design West.  Marcus, director of WalkleyArt was commissioned to create 161 paintings, one for each of the resorts luxurious villas followed by additional pieces for their renowned Ganesha Gallery. He was offered an “Artist Residency” for the period of time that it would take to create the artworks and for that time he stayed in one of the Resort’s Private Estate Villas, a sumptuous residence, complete with contemporary lotus ponds, swimming pool and ocean views, screened from the outside world by a Balinese wall. His alfresco studio was a poolside verandah. “I am so privileged to be given this opulent sanctuary to paint in. This is truly an indelible experience and I hope my art works convey some of the exquisite tranquility, abundance and joy of this temple like resort on the “Island of the Gods”. On completion of the gold leaf and acrylic paintings, Marcus was offered permanent display of his paintings in the Resorts gallery for purchase,  followed by the invitation to hold a one man exhibition in the Resorts’ Ganesha Gallery which he realized in the following year.
