When Sydney designer ‘George’ was opening in Melbourne, the owner of this flagship store contacted Marcus, WalkleyArt. Working within the strict budgetary constraints Marcus focused on providing a decorative painted feature wall backdrop which would provide trans-seasonal harmony to the changing foibles of fashion. Drawing on the Persian heritage of the Toorak boutique owner, he carefully crafted the walls to appear like softly unravelling old Oriental wallpaper murals, complete with trompe l'oiel join lines, the franchise's “Persian portrait” in the front entrance. Beautifully hand crafted light butterfly chandeliers reflecting in the silver leaf gilded panels in the ceiling above them.
